NSC sets up sub-committees for National Sports Festival

The festival tagged “Paradise Games 2014” is scheduled to hold from November 23 to December 7, 2014 in Calabar, the capital city of Cross River state.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Director General of the NSC who is also the chairman of the Main Organising Committee (MOC), Gbenga Elegbeleye enjoined members to be proactive and employ their wealth of experience, knowledge, skills and talents in sports organization to ensure that the festival which is Nigeria’s equivalent of the Olympic Games measures up to international standard.
Elegbeleye tasked members to strive to exceed the standard set at the “EKO” Games, stressing that the goal of the Commission is to sustain the tempo of the past standard of the Games as well as to continue to improve upon it.
The “Paradise Games” is an open festival for all eligible athletes, including foreign-based athletes of Nigerian origin.
The inaugurated sub-committees were Project Management Teams and the MOC Secretariat, finance, technical, medical and media and publicity.
