About 39 per cent of Nigerians want the federal, state and local governments to focus on job creation to lift people out of poverty, a report has said.
The latest report from the NOIPolls in Abuja also indicated that 30 per cent of Nigerians also want government to focus on the revitalisation of the economy and power supply.
The report, analysed by the Daily Trust, also showed that 33 per cent of Nigerians polled in the report indicated that they would love to start up a new business or expand their businesses for those who already have businesses and this is indicative of the high unemployment situation in the country.“
“The reason for this is not farfetched, unemployment rates skyrocketed in 2017 coupled with the hard lessons Nigerians learnt during the 2017 recession; a lot of Nigerians have now realized that there is need to have alternative means of income,” stated NOIPolls in the report.
The report also portrayed that some Nigerians are either not employed or are not satisfied with their present state of employment as 19 per cent disclosed that their goal for 2018 is getting a job or to have a change of job.
Further analysis showed that 14 per cent of Nigerians polled stated that they desired to build their own house this year.
