The Equities market of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed yesterday on a positive note, as the market capitalisation added N8 billion to close at N13,619 trillion
The All Share Index (ASI) appreciated by +0.06% to close at 38,264.79 basis points as against +0.66% appreciation recorded previously. Its Year-to-Date (YTD) returns currently stands at +0.06%.
Market breadth closed positive as FCMB led 26 Gainers as against 12 Losers topped by NEM at the end of the day’s session- an improved performance when compared with previous outlook.
Market turnover closed negative as volume moved down by -55.72% as against +74.10% uptick recorded in the previous session. TRANSCORP, ZENITHBANK and SKYEBANK were the most active to boost market turnover. ZENITHBANK and GUARANTY topped market value list.
SKYEBANK leads the list of active stocks that recorded impressive volume spike at the end of yesterday’s session.
The banking stocks of SKYE, Zenith, Guarantee and Access banks saw about 60 million shares traded for about N780 million.
The summary of the market activities indicated that a total of 248 million shares valued at N1.7 billion, exchanged hands in 3,035 deals.
