The Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey, Iliyasu Audu Paragalda, has presented his letter of credence to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
A statement by media aide of the Foreign Affairs Minister, Sarah Sanda, said the event took place yesterday at the presidential palace in Ankara, Turkey.
The statement quoted president Erdoğan as reiterating the country’s commitment to developing strategic relations with Nigeria particularly in political, economic and military areas.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador to Mali, Ken Nwachukwu, also presented his credentials to President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta after a review of parade at Koulouba, the country’s seat of government.
“President Keïta recalled the traditional relationship between Nigeria and Mali which he hopes the appointment of Ken Nwachukwu as Ambassador Extrordinaire and Plenipotentiary will further advance,” the statement said.
The president underscored the special relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari and lauded the role of Nigeria as a stabilizing force in the West Africa.
The Malian leader appreciated the role of Nigerian soldiers within the UN force in Mali – MINUSMA as well as the recent resolution of the crisis in the Gambia.
