Niger East: Tribunal to deliver judgement on Friday

The APC senatorial candidate had petitioned the tribunal seeking to be declared as the winner of the by-election having won majority of lawful votes.
He also prayed the tribunal to declare the declaration of Dr. Zagbayi of PDP as winner of the by-election null and void.
On the other hand, Dr. Zagbayi’s counsel, Ayodele (SAN) urged the tribunal to disregard the claims of the petitioners arguing that there were no substantial malpractices to affect the results of the by-election.
However, the tribunal in a statement issued yesterday through SMS to the parties involved in the petition by its secretary, Azeez Ayoola said, it will deliver judgement at about 9am on Friday, January, 30, 2015.
The statement, which was made available to journalists in Minna, read in part, “Notice for Judgement: Take notice that judgement in the petition No. EPT/NG/SEN/1/2014, Barrister David Umaru and another Vs Dr. Nuhu Shem Zagbayi and others will be delivered on Friday 30/1/2015 at state High Court 7 by 9 O’clock before noon.”
