Leicester City have become the new favourites to sign Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho after bookmakers dramatically reduced the odds on the young star moving to the King Power Stadium.
According to Leicester Mercury, the odds on the Nigerian striker joining City have been cut from 16/1 to just 4/6 on by bookmakers Bet Victor on after money went on Leicester being his next club at the end of this transfer window.
Iheanacho is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium in a deal worth around £20 million this summer despite expressing a wish to stay.
The 20-year-old found himself down the pecking order at Manchester City once Gabriel Jesus arrived and plans to sign another striker for next season would relegate him further in manager Pep Guardiola’s plans.
West Ham and Everton were reportedly keen on the youngster, and Crystal Palace have also reportedly entered the race.
The Hammers were the initial favourtes for his signature but have now drifted in the betting.
Iheanacho scored 12 times for Manchester City in 46 appearances, but only made 12 starts with the rest coming from the substitutes’ bench.
