A businessman, Alhaji Bello Danbuba and his 12 year-old son, Aliyu have been killed allegedly by unknown gunmen in Sokoto State.
It was learnt that they were killed at about 2am on Thursday in a farm on the outskirts of Gandi village, Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto where his herds of cow where kept.
Daily Trust learnt that after the assailants shot the victims, they left without taking away anything.
It was gathered that some other children of the deceased were at the farm when the incident happened.
The 50 year-old businessman, who was also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area, is survived by his mother, three wives, 13 children and grand children.
Police Public Relations Officer, Sokoto Command, El-Mustapha Sani, who confirmed the incident said the Commissioner of Police Mohammed Abdulkadir, had visited the scene of the incident and directed the Criminal Investigations Department to commence investigation into the killings.
He said investigation had commenced while more patrol teams had been deployed to the area but that no arrest have been made yet.
