The new president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), has emerged yesterday in a congress that took place in Abuja.
The Association yesterday replaced Chief Lawson Obasi with Engr Sanusi Abdu Fari as the new president to run association for the next 3 years. Chief Obasi has successfully completed his 3 years tenure in office this month.
In his inaugural speech, Engr Fari said he will uphold the constitution of the association and the collective will of all IPMAN members.
According to him, his emergence has open a new chapter of unity and progress of IPMAN, regretting that the last regime (2014-2017) remains the dark era if IPMAN in the annals’ of history. “It is the period we pray never to resurface as IPMAN wax to accomplish its objects.”
Engr Fari said his emergence as the new IPMAN president was a desire by all peace loving marketers who believe in the 1997 constitution that made succession provision for the association.
According to him, the constitution said that at the end of the tenure of the each president, his vice will automatically succeed him as the new president, and he was the former vice president under Obasi leadership and with the termination of his (Obasi) tenure this month, automatically he (Fari) emerged the new president.
Some of the dignitaries that attended the inauguration include Alhaji Nagwogwgwo Mamman, Chairman of Shema Petroleum Ltd, Chief Adewonyi Kolawole, Chief Shaguolo James, Alhaji Isiaku Abdullahi.
