The new Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Dauda Bage is scheduled to enter the Lafia Emirate Palace for the first since when he emerge Emir on March 26.
An aide to the new Emir told Daily Trust that, preparation are in top gear for the new Emir to relocate from Abuja where he has been a Justice of the Supreme Court to Lafia, where he will begin his reign as the 17th Emir of Lafia. The source added that many traditional title holders of Lafia have traveled from Lafia to Abuja to pay homage and allegiance to the Emir.
The new Emir is expected to enter the Palace as an Emir, receive homage and allegiance from title holders, community leaders and pray his first Friday prayer in the central Mosque in the Palace. Justice Bage was announced the seventeenth Emir of Lafia on March 26, 2019 to succeed the late Emir, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai who died on January 10aged 84.He ruled the Emirate for 44 years.
