Fifty youths are to be trained in Yobe under the National Directorate of Employment’s (NDE) Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme.
Yobe State NDE Coordinator, Hajiya Mairo Aliyu, said the programme was aimed at teaching the youths different kinds of agricultural skills such as horticulture, animal fattening and livestock production among others.
According to her the training will involve practical and theoretical sessions, stressing that both trainings would be carried out at farm where beneficiaries would be exposed to all aspects.
She said all the beneficiaries are indigenes of Yobe state who have just finished either secondary or higher institutions but have no jobs.
She called on the 50 beneficiaries to put more effort in order to have something doing after the three-month training.
Two of the beneficiaries, Aisha Ali, from Damaturu and Mohammed Boyi Umar from Fune Local Government areas commended the NDE for the training.
