NDE to resettle apprenticeship scheme trainees

The Lagos State office of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) said it would resettle 150 trainees of the Basic-National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS) programme who were recently trained in cosmetology.

State co-ordinator of NDE, Mr. Adebowale Ologbenla who disclosed this yesterday said the resettlement of the trainees followed the directive of the Director General, Dr Nasir  Mohammed.

In a statement made available to our correspondent, the resettlement of the trainees would contribute to reducing the rate of unemployment and promote entrepreneurship and technological development.

The 150 beneficiaries to be selected would cut across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, the coordinator disclosed.

According to him, the resettlement kit for each of the beneficiaries would be in form of loan package.

Ologbenla explained that though the present resettlement plan was mainly for beneficiaries of the cosmetology training programme who formed 70 per cent of the B-NOAS training programme, others would be resettled in  no distant time.

Other beneficiaries are in trades such as Barbing, GSM Repair, Bead stringing, Soap making, Insecticides/Perfume Jelly and Confectioneries.
