The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) will build an auditorium at the University of Uyo in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the Managing Director of the commission, Mr. Nsima Ekere, has said.
Speaking on Sunday night during an interactive session with members of the university’s senior staff club at the Town Campus in Uyo, Ekere said he was in the process of awarding contract for the construction of the auditorium.
Ekere told members of the club, mostly lecturers, who turned out massively, that he was in the process of awarding contract for the construction of the auditorium.
He would explore the possibility of constructing an access road to the club house in the remaining period of his stay at NDDC.
Ekere, who is also the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom, promised to execute the project immediately on assumption of office as governor in 2019 if he was unable to do so at NDDC.
He said he had picked a lecturer in the university and former APC state chairman, Dr. Amadu Attai, as his running mate.
President of the club, Prof. Ini Jona, thanked Ekere for the visit.
