In a colourful pulling out parade organized in his honour at the NDA headquarters under the leadership of the new commandant, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, retired General Ibrahim attributed his successes to hard work, dedication,  commitment to service and above all, divine help of God.

While commending all the service chiefs in making his military career a success, he advocate the need to always organize a pulling out parade for officers who have served meritoriously without necessary delay, rather than allowing them to sneak out as fugitives.

He charged officers still in service that there is no shortcut in life towards achieving success, stressing that hard work is the only way to genuine success.

He added, "Whatever you want to become, work at it, don’t give up your dream in life and with God on your side you will make it. I put my best at what I do in life and today the testimonies of God’s faithfulness is obvious in my life.

"Patriotism and love of the nation should be at the bottom of your career, be steadfast,  loyal and prayerful in all that you do".

He however urged the cadets to ensure that they never give up in their chosen endeavours but to strive towards becoming a better citizen of Nigeria now and always.

"Again, as I say thank you all and bow out of military active service,  I enjoin you to accord the new commandant the required cooperation and assistance for him to succeed. God bless you all," he said.
