Disclosing this, President NBF, Rotimi George-Tailor, said the trail will commence on July 16 at yet-to-be-fixed venue.
According to Geroge-Tailor, the trail, which will last for one week, is expected to have in participation boxers from different parts of the country.
The tournament, Grassroots Sports learnt, will be used to select boxers that will flag the green-white flag of Nigeria during Common Wealth Games in India, later in the year.
Both male and female boxers will slug it out in different categories during the trail and the best six male and female boxers will be selected for the games.
The federation decided to make the trail an open one in order to give all amateur boxers within the country an equal opportunity to prove their worth in the ring.
