Former President Court of Appeal, Justice Isa Ayo Salami (rtd) was among seven worthy members of the public who received meritorious award of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Those who also received the award were the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief, National Pilot Newspaper, Alhaji Billy Adedamola; Kwara State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN) and the Founder, Al- Hikmah University, Alhaji Abdulraheem Oladimeji.
Dean of Law, Igbinedion University, Professor Rasheed Ijaodola, Proprietor of Crown Hill University, Engr. Morgan Frank Akpan and the President, Kam Industries, Alhaji Kamarudeen Ibitoye Yusuf.
The awards were presented during the 2017 annual bar dinner of the NBA, Ilorin Branch, according to a statement made available to Daily Trust in Lagos yesterday.
Speaking at the event held at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin, the Chairman of NBA, Ilorin Branch, Barrister Issa Manzuma stated that the awardees were singled out for honour given their contribution to development of humanity and the nation.
He noted that the individuals had distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour, hence the need to recognize them.
According to him, the award is a way of appreciating and reciprocating their various contributions to the development of the society.
Present at the ceremony which attracted dignitaries from across the country were representative of Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed; other legal luminaries, captains of industries and academics.
