The Former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, has stated that he received N400 million from former President Goodluck Jonathan and not former National Security Adviser, retired Col. Sambo Dasuki.
Metuh is facing allegations of money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for receiving the sum of N400m from the former NSA alongside his company, Destra Investment Ltd.
At the resumed hearing yesterday, Metuh recalled the meeting he had with Jonathan, adding that the former president promised and made the N400m available to him to carry out the national assignment.
Led in evidence by his counsel, Abel Ozioko Esq, Metuh extolled the qualities of Dasuki, whom he said had a distinguished career in the military and served the country in other capacities.
“Up till May 29, 2015, no individual or group had ever questioned Dasuki’s integrity not to talk of been charged or arrested for any unlawful act,” he said.
Justice Okon Abang has adjourned the case to June 24 for further hearing.
