Mobile police allegedly killed driver over N10 in Taraba

A mobile police man was allegedly killed a driver at check point at Maisamari in Sardauna local area of Taraba state over N10.

Daily Trust gathered that the driver of Peugeot 505  station wagon with registration no TR 496 JAL was stopped at the check point and a mobile police ordered that he must pay N50 before he would be allow to pass.

The drive,identified as Muhammed Danjuma,aged 56  who hails from Nguroje was said to have offered N40 instead of N50 demanded by the mobile police  man,but the amount was rejected by the police man,insisting that he must give him the balance of N10.

Daily Trust gathered that driver brought out N1000 note and give the police man  saying he did not N50  but  the police man also rejected the N1000 note insisting that the driver must give him the NN50 .

It was at this point the police man started beating  the driver and shouting that the driver must pay the N50.
A source at Maisamari,Musa Sale told Daily Trust that the driver collapsed and died following serious beating he received from  the police man.

The police man it gathered was allegedly killed by mobs at Nguroje when he  accompanied the corpse of the driver.

The mobs had also threatened to burn the police station in the town resulting in deploying army to guard the police station.

Contacted, the police public relation officer Taraba state command,ASP David Misal said he not full details of the incident.
