Miscreants responsible for Jos crisis arrested

 

Operation Safe Haven yesterday said it had arrested some miscreants responsible for the breakdown of law and order that engulfed parts of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday.

Major Adam Umar, the spokesman of the Special Task Force maintaining peace in the state told Daily Trust that he could not confirm death figures, but many said many had been injured with several houses and vehicles burnt.

He said those arrested would be handed over to the police for prosecution after preliminary investigations.

“The situation is now under control but notwithstanding, we are patrolling the areas especially around Tina junction, Dutse Uku, Cele Bridge and Anguwan Rukuba, these are the hot spots,” he said.

Earlier, the president of the Students Union Government  of University of Jos, Pantu Fwangshak, had said only one student was killed and two others injured.
