Mining and manufacturing accounted for 89 per cent of investment pronouncements recorded in Nigeria in the first quarter of 2018.
Investment pronouncements tracked by the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) within the period showed that $45.74 billion worth of investments were announced for 42 projects in nine states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The sectorial analysis of the announcements indicates 12 sectors of interest with mining and quarrying accounting for 61 per cent of the value, manufacturing 28 per cent, transportation and storage 5 per cent, real estate 3 per cent and the remaining sectors 3 per cent.
