Man jailed for failing to pay for recharge cards in Nyanya

The convict, a security guard, was arraigned on a one-count of cheating contrary to Section 322 of the Penal Code.
The presiding judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko who convicted Ayuba after he pleaded guilty to refusing to pay the sum of money and asked for leniency however, gave him an option to pay N3,000 fine.  He also ordered the convict to pay N31,750 as compensation to the complainant.  
Earlier the police prosecutor told the court that one Dahiru Shaibu of Area A, Block 36, Nyanya had lodged a report against the convict at the Nyanya Police Station on December 11.
The prosecutor said that on the same date Ayuba collected the N31,750 worth of recharge cards and refused to pay the complainant.
