Man docked for allegedly impersonating military officer

A 28-year-old man, Victor Ugwu, was yesterday charged before an Ikeja magistrate court, Lagos, with allegedly impersonating a military officer.

Ugwu was alleged to have committed the offence on September 12, 2019 at about 1.30pm at the Cele bus stop, along the Mile 2, Oshodi expressway.

The police prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police N. Peter, told the court that the accused person committed the offence of impersonation by wearing a military camouflage.

Ugwu pleaded not guilty to the two-count criminal charge levelled against him.

Chief magistrate Y. O. Aje-Afunwa admitted him to bail of N250,000, with a surety and adjourned the case till January 16, 2020 for further hearing.
