Man caught in bed with friend’s new wife

There was confusion in Maduganari area of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, when the husband of a newly married lady returned home in the evening and met his childhood friend in his bed with his wife.
Bakolo Abdullahi, 28, told Daily Trust that when he returned home about 9:00p.m., his wife tried to prevent him from entering the room, but when he forced his way into the room, he found his 35-year-old childhood friend (name withheld), on his bed trying to dress up.
“I hit him on the face and shouted for help; but he ran away leaving his shoes before help came. The following morning, I traced him to a bus stop at Bulunkutu, where he was trying to board a vehicle. I asked him to follow me to my house to take his shoes, but he refused. We started wrestling until officials of the road transport union separated us and took us to the Civilian JTF office close to the place.
“The Civilian JTF took us to Bulunkutu police station, from where they referred us to Metro police station. After obtaining our statements, the police at Metro referred us to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that though he had affair with my wife, he did not infect her with any sexual disease.
“The police are willing to charge the case to court. He is my childhood friend and has been begging me to forgive him. I think I will forgive him,” he said.
Commenting on the matter, the Sector 9 secretary of the Civilian JTF, Mohammed Ali, said the suspect admitted committing the offence even before he was handed over to the police.
Madu also told our reporter that he actually had an affair with his friend’s wife, saying it was Satan that pushed him into the act. “I did not know the woman before they married recently. It was actually a mistake, which will never repeat itself. I regret doing what I did,” he said.
