A 22-year-old man, Musbahu Tasiu, on Tuesday, appeared before a Kano Magistrates’ Court for alleged rape of a three-year-old girl.
Tasiu, who lives at Garo village, Kabo Local Government Area of Kano, is standing trial on a one-count charge of rape.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Pogu Lale, had told the court that the case was reported at Garo Police Station by the complainant’s mother, Zainab Alhassan, on Jan. 24.
Lale said that the accused at about 10.30 a.m. deceived and lured the three-year-old girl into an uncompleted building in Garo village and had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
Lale said the offence contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Muhammad Jibril, ordered the remand of the accused person in prison custody, and adjourned the case until Feb. 28, for mention. (NAN)
