Man allegedly commits suicide in Lagos hotel

A middle-aged man has reportedly committed suicide in a hotel located on 4th Avenue, Festac Town in Lagos State.

His corpse was said to have been discovered by a staff of the hotel on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Moses Prince, reportedly drank an insecticide known as sniper.

He checked into the hotel on Sunday, but on the next day, one of the cleaners who went to clean his room was said to have raised the alarm, upon discovering his lifeless body, with a foamy white substance coming out from his mouth.

Management of the hotel contacted the police at Festac division who arrived at the hotel and evacuated the body.

Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Chike Oti, who confirmed the incident, said investigation into it was ongoing. He said the matter had been transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Yaba for further investigation.
