A 37-year-old man, Jonathan Ifeanyi, was on Monday arraigned before an Ogba, Lagos, magistrate’s court for an alleged intent to defraud one Jotto Ohizokhae of the sum of N1 million.
Ifeanyi, who is facing a two-count charge, allegedly committed the offence on November 24, 2016, at 4pm at No 13, Olufemi Olulade Crescent, New Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos.
Police prosecutor, Sergeant I. Odugbo, told the court that the accused obtained the money from Ohizokhae under the pretext he wanted to assist him produce a movie and market it.
Ifeanyi, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate B.O. Osunsanmi granted him N200,000 bail, with two sureties whose tax and house addresses she ordered must be verified.
She adjourned the case till October 9, 2018 for mention.
