A 20-year-old man, Peter Moses, has been arraigned at an Ado-Ekiti chief magistrate court for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl.
The prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, informed the court yesterday that Moses committed the offence on June 2, 2020 in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
Okebuilo said the defendant and the girl’s parents were neighbours.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in prison pending legal advice from the Ekiti State Office of the Director of Public Prosecution. The plea of the defendant was not taken. Chief Magistrate (Mrs) Adefunmike Anoma, ordered the remand of the defendant at the Correctional Centre in the state and adjourned the case till July 21, 2020 for mention.
