Lekan suspected to be of insane mind stormed the school premises during the break time to unleash the horror, which had shattered the lively community since Monday.

While manhunt began, Lekan was eventually arrested at Area J4 of the local government, several kilometers from the scene of the incident.

The Chairman of the Ogun Waterside local government, Comr. Olufemi Onanuga, confirmed the arrest in a telephone chat with our Correspondent.

Onanuga expressed shock by the distance Lekan had covered. On the last 48hours, arousing suspicion of his acclaimed insanity.

"In fact he was crying and begging for leniency. We are all shocked. How can somebody we all know to be mad realize the magnitude of his offence to start begging," Onanuga wondered.

"Well, he has been arrested and handed over to the Area Commander for onward transfer to Abeokuta for further interrogation."

The Chairman said the Council leadership had visited the families of the late pupils to sympathise with them "assuring them that Lekan would be arrested and brought to book, but, the distance he had covered before his arrest baffled us," Onanuga told our Correspondent.
