The widow of late Rivers state-born business mogul, High Chief OB Lulu-Briggs, has appealed to the family of the deceased to start the process of his burial.
High Chief OB Lulu-Briggs, a philanthropist and founder of Monu Polo Oil Prospecting Company died on December 27, 2018 in Accra, Ghana and 10 months after his demise his remains are yet to be brought back home.
The family of the deceased is locked in cold war over his death, a development that prompted his son, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, to invite the police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A police inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of the deceased has stalled the interment of the oil mogul.
The widow of the deceased, Dr Seinye Lulu-Briggs, in a letter addressed to the elders of Briggs family, appealed to them to initiate the process of interment.
Dr Briggs, in the letter made available to our reporter, said “as the widow of Opuda Lulu-Briggs and the mother of Briggs family at large I plead with you all to give consideration to the fact that Opuda had passed on to glory since 27th December, 2018.
“This is 10 months and he has not been buried. Whether this reason or reasons why this is so justified or not is not for me to state here. What I pray is that God Almighty may grant you grace to exhibit his counsel in your deliberation as it affects me and all my children.”
She said that the body of the deceased is still lying in a mortuary in Accra and urged the family to restart the process of according the deceased a befitting burial.
