Liverpool go top with draw at Arsenal

Liverpool have moved to the top of the Premier League table courtesy of a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

Alexandre Lacazette grabbed a draw for Arsenal against Liverpool eight minutes from time to cancel out James Milner 50th Premier League goal.

Liverpool spent significant periods on the back foot against their vibrant hosts, although Sadio Mane had a goal controversially ruled out for offside and Virgil van Dijk hit the post before captain James Milner clinically pounced on a Bernd Leno error after the hour before Alexandre Lacazette earned Unai Emery’s side a point to extend Arsenal’s unbeaten run to 14 matches across all competitions.

The result means that Liverpool are still unbeaten after 11 games of the Premier League campaign, moving one point clear of Manchester City ahead of the champions’ home game against Southampton on Sunday.
