Life Camp police nab suspected car snatcher

A police source at the division told our reporter that the suspect has been on the red list of the police over allegation of using master keys to steal cars.
“Each time he comes to where a car is parked, the vehicle will no longer be there. It gave us grave concern and we reported the matter to the Life Camp police division, who eventually arrested him,’’ a resident of the area said.
The Life Camp divisional police officer, Chief Superintendent Mohammed Umar, confirmed the incident and told our reporter that the suspect was a notorious car snatcher.
“Our men on patrol around Jabi  Masallachi in Life Camp area arrested the suspect, who stays at Jabi Garage while trying to steal aToyota Corolla car with registration number YAB 150 AR belonging to a resident of Lake View Estate, Jabi, Abuja,” he stated.
The police chief said officers, who arrested the suspect noticed that the suspect had already opened the vehicle and was about to enter and zoom off when the policemen arrested him.
He advised criminals to stay off Life Camp because according to him, they would do everything within their power to completely eradicate criminal of any form from the area.
FCT Police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Hyelhira Altine Daniel, also confirmed the arrest and noted that upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the offence and said he used a master key to open the said vehicle.
She said the case is still under investigation.
