An Abuja-based lawyer, Oluwatosin Ojaomo has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and all security agencies to execute the arrest warrant issued against Senator Hope Uzodinma.
A Grade One Area Court, Kubwa, FCT had on September 18 issued a warrant of arrest against Uzodinma in a criminal complaint by Chiteks Ventures Ltd and others.
In the petition dated September 19, 2018, Ojaomo wants law enforcement agencies, which the order was directed at to act swiftly to arrest the lawmaker in line with the provisions of sections 43 and 44 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), 2015.
The court order followed allegations of issuance of N200m dud cheque against the Senator by a Director of Chiteks Ltd. He said the cheque bounced when presented in the bank.
The case has been adjourned to Tuesday September 25.
