Kuje chair flags off livestock vaccination

The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, has flagged-off  the vaccination of livestock in the area, calling on herders to get their livestock vaccinated.

Sabo, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Shem Kwasu, said the vaccination of livestock was aimed at preventing diseases that may plague the animals.

He said the present administration was determined to give agriculture top priority, as the main stay of the economy of people of the council.

He said in order to enhance better and healthy production of livestock for human consumption, the programme could not have come at a better time.

Also speaking, the head of department for agriculture in the council, Dr Godwin Abbah, said  the exercise was aimed at treating livestock in the council.

He disclosed that about 5,000 livestock were targeted for the vaccination exercise, and advised herders to report any outbreak they notice in their animals to veterinary officers in the council.
