The command’s spokesman, Mr Williams Aya, who disclosed this yesterday while parading some suspects arrested by the command, explained that operatives attached to SARS led by DSP Babagana Bukar, acting on a tip-off, rounded up one Shaibu Ali Adejoh with the said vehicle at Achigili area of Dekina on November 8.

According to him, the suspect stole the vehicle from a woman he was working for as a driver in Lagos and brought it to his village where he was allegedly approaching people to help him dispose of it before he was nabbed by the police.

While fielding questions from journalists, the suspect confessed that he was a driver to one Mrs Mary Musa and has been working for her since October 2017 on monthly pay of N45,000.

He said that he did not have any plan of stealing his madam’s car, adding that he only travelled with the car to the village to see his sick father.

According to him, his madam was billed to travel out of the country and that his intention was to quickly go home with the vehicle and return to Lagos before her return.

The command also paraded 14 other suspects arrested across the state for offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping and belonging to unlawful society.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects included AK47 rifle, pump action gun, locally made gun, cartridges, charms, locally made bullet proof and plasma TV set. The spokesman of the command said all the suspects arrested would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
