The abductors of an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Adamu Suleiman and his children, Abdullahi and Balkisu, have demanded a ransom of N35 million before they can be set free.
City News had reported that the officer and his children were abducted in the early hours of Thursday at Nahari community in Abaji Area Council.
A member of the victims’ family who preferred anonymity confided in our reporter yesterday that the kidnappers had insisted that until N35m is paid the victims would not be set free.
He said one of the members of the family who had been communicating with the kidnappers through telephone had been negotiating with them to bring down the ransom that would be affordable to the family.
According to him, the kidnappers are now demanding N5m after intensive negotiations, even as he said the family was still finding it difficult to raise the amount.
The spokesman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, confirmed the abduction, but said the command was not aware of the ransom being demanded.
