Katsina plans to buy N35 million worth of vaccine against meningitis in the wake of an outbreak in the state.
The state commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs Abdulkadir Zakka told Daily Trust that all 34 local governments have been jointly mobilised and the state government is supporting with its additional grants for a massive vaccinations across the councils adding that ‘ the primary health care development agency have been asked to come up with the strategy for the vaccination’
He said, a survey of most affected areas are being carried with involvement of health personnel to sensitise people on what needs to be done adding that most of those affected are with meningitis’
It could be recalled that since the outbreak of the deceased many deaths have been recorded mostly in rural communities of Jibia, Batagarawa and Dutsinma local government areas.
