Katsina to accommodate defeated APC aspirants

The Katsina State Government, yesterday, extended hands of friendship to all defeated and aggrieved aspirants who took part in the just concluded party primaries to close ranks and work for the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Governor Masari, who made the plea during his budget speech, said “We have just emerged from the primary elections organized by our great party, the APC, into different offices to be contested during the forthcoming general elections. I congratulate those who won and call on them to show humility and re-dedicate themselves to the ideals of the party.

“For those who were not successful, I want to re-assure them that the APC family in Katsina State is big enough to accommodate them with open hands in the task ahead,” he said.

“I had the opportunity before the primaries to address you on this matter. I repeat, no one will be left out; we shall continue the march we started together in 2015, Insha Allah,” he added.

Daily Trust reports that there had been tension and apprehension among party members since the primaries with pockets of protests by aspirants even as some of them had been threatening legal action and defections.
