Jigawa Hisbah command impounds vehicles loaded with liquor

The Jigawa State  Hisbah Command has impounded a vehicle for transporting 389 bottles of liquor into Hadejia, the headquarters of Hadejia Local Government Area.

This was contained in a statement by the state Hisbah Commander, Ibrahim Dahiru, Wednesday.

It said the vehicle was impounded during a raid by operatives of the command at 10 a.m on Tuesday.

He said the vehicle was impounded at the residence of one Emma Rotimi in Mairanda Jama’are quarters, Hadejia, adding that 1, 026 empty bottles of liquor were also recovered.

He further stated that the said Rotimi  was  handed over to the police for arraignment.

The statement emphasized that the prohibition of  consumption of alcohol in the state is still enforce and that the  command would not rest on its oars until the state was rid of  the act.
