Farmers in Sambalisa Village of Birnin Kudu Local Government in Jigawa say they are in dire need of roads in the area for easy transportation of farm produce.
Speaking on behalf of the community in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Chairman of Sambalisa Development Association, Malam Abdullahi Sabo, appealed to Governor Muhammad Badaru to come to their rescue.
Sabo said that the people engaged in farming activities, and that they were finding it difficult to transport their produce to markets in urban centres.
According to him, the lack of social amenities, especially roads, had made some members of the community to contemplate migrating to other villages.
“We are appealing to the governor to construct road to our community to discourage our people from migrating,” he appealed.
He said that construction of road would aid free movement of people and boost socio-economic activities.
