Elections have been rescheduled to take place in three council wards in Benue State.
The affected areas include Mbalom in Gwer East LGA, Yandev North in Gboko LGA and Manger II in Tarka LGA respectively.
Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in Benue state, Nentawe Yilwatda, announced the postponement of elections in the affected areas at a press conference in Makurdi.
Yilwatda said there were burning of electoral materials at Mbalom while the commission’s ad-hoc staff were held hostage in the other two council wards.
The REC however did not disclose when the elections will hold in the areas.
