No fewer than 431 pharmaceutical and patent medicine shops were sealed by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) in Imo State for breaching the council’s laws in handling and sale of medicines.
The Director of Inspection and Monitoring of PCN, Mrs Anthonia Aruya, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Owerri yesterday, said this comprised of 45 pharmacy shops and 386 Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMVS).
The director said in the visit, the 27th so far, 522 drug premises were inspected, comprising of 103 pharmacists and 419 PPMVS.
