Igwe dazzles as Godsmark wins sponsorship at Okatta Golf tourney

At the end of the one day tournament, Igwe won the best score with a gross of 82 to beat the likes of M. Suleiman and Dipo Sanya who shot 86 and 87 gross to come second and third respectively.
In category 2 level, Mr. S. Shongwe, a diplomat from South African High Commission came first with 92 gross with handicap 12 with net score of 80  beating Y. Zakari to second position with gross of 93 and handicap of 12 of net 81. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former captain of the IBB Golf and Country Club, Paul Erokoro came third with 93 gross and handicap of 11 handicap and a net of 82.
Meanwhile, in the pro-trainees event which rounded up on Thursday, three best players, Isif Godsmark, John Odoh and A. Jacob were selected.
In the end, Godsmark who came first with 82 gross was picked for award of sponsorship ahead of Odoh and Jacob with 91 gross and 92 gross respectively.
Organisers of the tournament said Godsmark will be given every assistance as he prepares to go for further training at the Kenako Golf Academy in George, South Africa.
Over 200 players from all over the golf clubs in Nigeria and Ghana took part in this year’s tournament which the sponsor Mr. Emeka Okatta described as a huge success.
