Enugu Rangers experienced midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has expressed confidence that the ‘flying antelopes’ will still progress to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup despite losing 1-2 to ASC Kara of Togo.
The Nigerian representatives were running away with a draw in the first leg of the Confederation Cup playoff in Lome on Sunday but the host struck on the dead to pocket the maximum points.
Rangers now have a mountain to climb as they host the Togolese this weekend in a must win match.
Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, the former Heartland and Enyimba player said there is absolutely no cause for alarm as he said Rangers will turn the tide in their favour in the return leg.
“We were determined to earn at least a draw against our opponents but luck deserted us at the last minute. It was a difficult match for both sides.
“There is nothing to worry about as we are going to win in the return leg to move to the Group Stage. We have set a target and we would get there,” he assured.
