IBB’s son approaches NUC to establish Al-Amin university

Mohammed Babangida who is the Executive Director of Al-Amin International Limited, the parent organization for the family firm, told the NUC Executive Secretary, Julius Okojie, that the organisation which has been providing primary and secondary education in Niger State for the past 15 years has concluded plans to venture into university education.
He said the university when established would bridge the gap in the nation’s tertiary education sector by producing graduates who would be self reliant.
“What we are trying to do is to enhance what is available locally and bring a mix of international opportunities in terms of courses that are not being offered presently in Nigeria such as tourism, hospitality management, and creative arts among others. “
Meanwhile, while presenting the letter of recognition to Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Ahmed Mahmood, who represented Governor Sule Lamido, Okojie noted that the university is the 39th state university in the country and 129th university in general.  He emphasised the need for the management of the new university to prepare a detailed academic brief, physical structures and laws as major requirements before commencing academic activities.
He assured the team that NUC would give the state all the necessary support for the university to successfully take off.
NUC also issued a letter of recognition to Jigawa State governor in respect of the proposed Jigawa State University.
