The Head of the Federal Civil of Service (HoS), Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, has called on accountants to be bolder and point out when things are going wrong in their organisations.
Mrs. Oyo-Ita spoke in Abuja when the Abuja District of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) launched the maiden edition of its annual magazine, The Chartered Accountant.
At the launching, the National President of the Institute, Alhaji Rasaq Adeleke Jaiyeola, said the magazine was a medium to educate its members about the technicalities of the profession.
“We are introducing this journal called The Chartered Accountants. It’s a very good innovation and seeks to promote unity among members. It’s a medium for educating members as regards technicalities of this profession,” he said.
Mrs. Oyo-Ita, who is an accountant and was the chairman of the occasion, congratulated the Abuja District of ICAN and urged accountants to be bolder and point out when things were going wrong in their organisations.
The First Deputy Vice President of ICAN and Coordinator of the Abuja District, Mrs. Onome Joy Adewuyi, said by launching the magazine, the institute had been able to add to mental education in the society as the journal carried articles from different facets of the society.
