Hajj: NAHCON warns on last minute biometric capture

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has charged state pilgrims boards and travel agencies involved in the 2018 hajj operations to commence early arrangements for biometric data capturing of intending pilgrims.

The commission said Abuja, Kano and Lagos had been designated as centres for the biometric registration of intending pilgrims even as plans were on to establish more.

NAHCON’S director of personnel, policy management and finance, Dr. Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim, said in Ilorin at a sensitisation programme for stakeholders on Saudi Arabia’s new policies on hajj operation that the commission and the federal government were prevailing on the Saudi authorities to excuse pilgrims from Nigeria in biometric capturing this year but advised stakeholders to start early preparations.
