Gunmen suspected to be robbers raped two house wives and a spinster at Agwe community in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
A resident of the community, simply identified as Ibrahim, said the incident happened in the early hours of last Thursday around 2:am when the three gunmen invaded the community.
He said the gunmen who forced themselves into many houses, first entered into the house of a man whom they demanded money from and when he said he did not have, they led him into his wife’s bedroom and raped her in his presence.
According to him, the gunmen proceeded to the next house where they took away another house-wife and a spinster to the bush along Achimbi road, few metres away from the community and raped two of them.
He also said the gunmen shot and injured a man on the head who just woke up from sleep when the robbers entered his house.
City News learnt that luck ran out on the gunmen when soldiers deployed at neighbouring Kwaku village apprehended them and handed them over to the police.
He said the injured victim and the three women were taken to the Kuje General Hospital where they were treated.
When contacted, the acting spokesman of the FCT police command, ASP Mariam Yusuf, said she was in a meeting and that she would get back to our reporter when she receives information about the incident but was yet to do so at the time of filing this report.
