Daredevil gunmen at the weekend stormed a Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega filling station along Jibia road in Katsina and dispensed fuel to motorists for free.
A witness told Daily Trust that the robbers, who disguised as security agents, had earlier asked for the manager purportedly to kidnap him.
However, when they realised the manager wasn’t around, they gathered the attendants and collected all the money they made for the day.
The robbers, rather than fleeing the scene, our correspondent learnt, took over the running of the station and began dispensing fuel for free to unsuspecting motorists who came in to refuel.
The witness said this lasted for close to fifteen minutes before they left.
All efforts to get comments from the police were unsuccessful.
