Coordinator of the movement and former state chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC), Alhaji Mubashiru Aliyu , said the group’s support for the former head of state emanated from his zero tolerance for corruption, his stand on justice and fair play as well as his fear of God and love for the masses and the country.
Former secretary of the CPC, Pastor David Joseph Dabit while speaking on the virtues of Gen. Buhari explained that “the odds against Buhari is that people say he is a religious fanatic, and most of those preaching this are Muslims because they want to destroy him politically while other people are cashing on it. They also say he is very harsh because he brought about discipline in Nigeria while he was head of state.”
Dabit said based on his attributes and commitments, Buhari was a leader committed to ensuring that the people enjoyed dividends of democracy and stressed that traditional and religious leaders as well as the elite were painting him negatively because they do not have the interest of the masses and the country at heart.
Former public relations officer of the defunct CPC, Alhaji Jamilu Baba,on his part, urged the electorate to be prepared to protect their votes stressing that “you cannot rely on security men or INEC to protect your votes, we must all rise to make sure that our votes count.”
