A non-governmental organisation, Grow with Data Youth foundation (GWD) has sensitised 30 women on financial literacy in Adamawa.
The Executive Director, Mrs. Nnenna Mosugu stated this to newsmen on Thursday during a training session of beneficiaries.
Mrs Nnenna, who said the programme was being carried along with Mentors international Technical Skills Development (TSDP), reiterated that so many people have lost their job due to COVID-19 hence the need to train the women on financial literacy.
She said the training was enable them to make financial decisions not only in Nigeria but across the globe.
She observed that since the youths are the future of Nigeria, there is the need to raise their financial literacy so as to know how to make sound financial decisions and right choices early.
Nnenna said the organisation has set up financial literacy clubs in eight schools and have seen dramatic improvements with most of the students increasing their knowledge on financial matters by over thirty seven percent.
The executive director said she wanted women and youths to make use of the lockdown order by making money at home through the training they have received on graphic design, web design, video editing and blogging skills.
