The Progressive Youth Movement (PYM) has just inaugurated its national executive officers from 36 states of the federation to commence campaign for the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
The President of the group, Chief Dr. Charles Chukwu said that the group intends to establish coordinating executives in all the polling areas in the federation. He also said that the group will have an inaugural summit in Abuja and they expect a minimum of a hundred observers from each state.
Chukwu said that the association is established to cater for the genuine interest of the youth at the grassroots because they have made effort to register at all the polling units in the federation.
According to Chukwu, the group will strengthen its campaign towards ensuring that President Buhari is re-elected in 2019 to continue with the good work he has started in the country.
He also commended President Buhari’s administration and policies. “We believe that it is time for the youth to key into these programmes and we the Progressive Youth Movement are the forefront of encouraging the youths to cash in on the wonderful programs of the federal government”, he said.
The group’s Adviser on National Matters Engr. Hamza Adams also commends President Buhari’s government saying that “He is doing something meaningful and he shares the vision of the APC and I am confident that majority of the APC members would vote for Buhari at the primaries”. He also said that the group intends to bring the youth in the country together and galvanize them towards the government’s activities for the benefit of the youth itself.
Adams added that President Buhari has a legitimate right to contest for a second term in office, adding, “He has the energy, the quality, the knowledge and he has experience.”
The National Publicity Secretary Amb. Obinna Nwaka said that the group has four executives in each polling unit across the nation. He also said that the group is working together with the “Save Nigeria Project” to ensure the re-election of President Buhari.
Some of the executive members who were inaugurated include the National Secretary Dr. Otu Archibong, National Organizing Secretary Hon. Chidi Chielo, National Treasurer Amb. Anna Nege, National Women Leader Sandra Gbaguma and the Financial Secretary Mr. John Yakubu.
